The sign committee would like to provide an up-date on the progress with our new digital sign.

Miracle Signs from Wichita was selected as the sign vendor.  At a recent Butler County Zoning Commission meeting an ordinance was approved permitting signs up to 80 square feet for churches and schools without requiring an exemption.  Miracle Signs has received the official permit from Butler County.

We have been evaluating drawings of the sign as submitted by Miracle Signs in order to choose the colors that will match the building as close as possible.  The recommended location is midway between the driveway and north property boundary, no closer than 32 feet from the edge of the road.  A new electrical service will be installed at the nearest utility pole to provide electrical power to the sign.

To encourage installation of proper signage, United Methodist Communications established a grant to help cover the cost of LED signs.  We have received notice that our church has been selected as a 2009 Back-to-School Matching Grant recipient for an LED sign.  The grant will be for a little more than $15,000.00

We are excited about the way things are coming together and look forward to the new sign being installed sometime in September.
